Women in Construction Week runs from 3rd March to 9th March 2024 and there are many women we wish to acknowledge who are associated with our construction business or who work in it, and for it, every day.
Sam Fowles – Co-Director
Sam has worked for the business for the last 20 years, or in her words, the same length of time she has been married to Mark. Sam came into the business from a retail background and brought with her amazing customer service skills, organisation and attention to detail. Sam is the administrative backbone of Elivate, providing the business with a complete administration package, from purchasing to paying people, to invoicing to incidentals. Sam is the heartbeat of Elivate an essential cog in our machinery.
This week we also want to recognise some of the women in construction who are connected with our business. We are fortunate enough to work with Izabela Collard, who runs her own painting and decoration business here in Reading, plus we have an awesome decorator Sarah, who works with Michelle Bunce and Jeremy Bunce who own Decreate in Woodley, these are both local business and have women at the front and centre of their companies
One of our exceptional suppliers would have to be Tara Neil, she founded this Kitchen and Bedroom business with Geoff Watts and we work with some of her fabulous female team, Julie Gotts, juliette Hookey, these women may not be installing the kitchens but they provide an exceptional level of customer service to our clients and our carpenters.
And finally, we have to recognise Samantha Nice, who was our account manager at Travis Perkins until her recent promotion, when she handed us over to Nina Watts. The construction materials knowledge these women have and their ability to understand and interpret what we need is exceptional.
We are happy to work with anyone who comes to us with the right skill sets, provides exceptional quality products and services to our team and our customers and does what they say they are going to do, every time. These may be high standards, but that’s what our customers demand from us and this week it’s wonderful to be able to salute the women who impact our business so positively.
