Apex Plaza…
Apex Plaza in Reading is a very large multi-office building, serving many local and international businesses. This one stays in our portfolio even though we completed the project over 10 years ago.
The old reception area was very tired and the main contractor who won the full project contacted us to upgrade the floor and build to 2 symmetrical ramps at each end. We ended up doing everything in these photos apart from the palm trees. We pumped 150 Tonnes of concrete from street level, through an opening where we removed a large pane of glass. The ramp shapes were formed in formwork (2 skins of shaped and supported plywood) and the concrete was pumped in. The finished result was breathtaking. Most of our work is domestic now, but this demonstrates our willingness to take on something a bit different and our skill level to pull it off.
